Our Mission...
Fibromyalgia Relief International was established to assist, educate and
support individuals that suffer with FMS and bring awareness to families,
friends and communities.
What is Fibromyalgia?
The symptom of muscle pain has been discussed since the mid
1800's, called Fibrosis. Fibromyalgia Syndrome or FMS was
not accepted as a medical condition until the mid 1990's.
History of Fibromyalgia Relief International
In 1997 long time friends, Eunice Mason, Victoria Stevens, Dorothy James
and myself Sally-Anna Sargent were having a once a month social afternoon.
Eventually getting around to talking about health and realized that we
all had similar symptoms of pain through out our body and lack of energy.
Shortly
there after I saw an article about Fibromyalgia in the "Daily News" a
local newspaper. The following month we met for lunch and I took the article
and shared it with my friends. At that time we decided to create an organization
or something to inform people about this syndrome. It was not until 1999
when our organization was created with the intent to bring information
and support to those suffering with Fibromyalgia family and friends.
